Read In Color

We at the Gardens believe that diverse books, like diverse ecosystems, lead to a better understanding of the world around us.

Read in Color is a national program through Little Free Library and distributes books that provide perspectives on racism and social justice; celebrate BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and other marginalized voices; and incorporate experiences from all identities for all readers. Sheboygan is categorized as a “book dessert” with low access to books in individual households. Bookworm Gardens has planted 10 book-sharing boxes filled with culturally relevant books throughout the community to increase access to diverse literature!
