Youth Program
Bookworm Gardens has a terrific opportunity for enthusiastic, energetic and responsible middle and high school students! The Youth Program consists of Youth Volunteers and Camp Interns who provide valuable support for the mission of Bookworm Gardens to inspire the love of books and nature in the young and young at heart.

youth Volunteers
Available to volunteer for garden activities or events between June - October
Entering at least 6th grade (or age 11)
Assists with educational programming, garden maintenance and special events
Provides own transportation
Variable hours
camp Interns - Currently filled for Summer 2024
Paid internship (small stipend)
Assists with a minimum of 2 weeks of summer camp programming and special event preparation
Entering at least 9th grade (or age 14)
Available 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Prior volunteer experience at the Gardens suggested
Interview required
Why volunteer at the Gardens?
The Youth Program will provide students with opportunities to:
• Foster positive relationships with preschool and elementary-age children
• Assist with and develop garden programming
• Promote stewardship between the community and Bookworm Gardens
• Build confidence, leadership, and public speaking skills
• Develop horticulture skills
• Engage in effective communication, goal setting, and project planning
