Happily Haunted


October 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 26 | 5-8 PM

Experience the magic of not-so-spooky family fun at Bookworm Gardens during Happily Haunted! Stroll through the Gardens, glowing with over 100,000 twinkling lights and enchanting structures, and enjoy seasonal delights around every corner. Dinner fare, munchies, and festive beverages will be available for purchase. All children will leave with a treat bag, so keep your trick-or-treat buckets at home!

EVENT ENTRY INCLUDES:

  • Access unique garden spaces decorated with thousands of twinkly lights and structures

  • Listen to our Halloween themed storytime

  • Hunt for bats in a spooky game of I-Spy

  • Warm up by the toasty bonfire

  • View creatively carved, painted or decorated pumpkins in our Pumpkin Walk. For more information on entry, click here for guidelines.

  • Concessions available for purchase with themed beverages, delicious hot dogs, warm chili, popcorn, sweet treats and s’mores kits

  • Festive treat bags will be given to every child

BOOKWORM MEMBER BENEFITS

Bookworm Members get the opportunity to explore the Gardens the first full weekend (October 10, 11, and 12) of Happily Haunted with no charge for members and those in their immediate family. Want to become a member? Click here. Reciprocal and library garden memberships are not applicable during events.

  • Bookworm Gardens Member Adult: $10

  • Bookworm Gardens Member Youth (3-17): $8

  • Public Adults: $15

  • Public Youth (3-17): $13

  • 2 yrs and under: Free

Event admission is non-refundable and non-transferrable. AHS Reciprocal Memberships, Library Memberships/Passes, and Family Guest Passes are not applicable for this special event. The Gardens are open rain or shine. In the case of unsafe or severe weather conditions, visit our website and follow us on social media for updates.

PUMPKIN WALK

Calling all creators! Create a book or nature-inspired pumpkin for thousands of visitors to see at the Happily Haunted Pumpkin Walk. Carve it, paint it, embellish it! Young, young at heart, groups, classrooms...anyone is welcome to participate!

Drop off your completed pumpkin at Bookworm Gardens October 5-8, 9am-3pm. Then, come to Happily Haunted to see all the amazing pumpkin creations on display! Pumpkins will be composted at the end of the event unless specifically requested for pickup.
